Me and the whole Team Austria are more than happy about having by far outperformed our wildest expectations in the Billiards International 2009.
Big Congrats to Wener Rieschl, who has done an outstanding performance in even taking scorepoints off absolute top English Amateurs such as Rob Hall as well as Irish experts in experience like Timothy Murphy!!! Very-very well done!
All exponents of the Austrian Team have demonstrated their growing abilities and certainly all the ones who could NOT win a scorepoint for the national team yet have equally given their best possible performance and maybe thereby enabled others, who may have been given the privilege of an easier draw, to score massively for the entirety of the Austrian Team.

Great Thanks to non-playing Team Captain Günther Eckhart, who has been a model motivator for all players in the team and kept the spirit up all-time during the tournament - effortless, having leveled the performance of the previous seasons in the very first Saturday session already.

Big Thanks to central Organizers Patrick Stegmeier, Billiards Deputy Sports Director of ÖSBV, Robert Trinbacher, Sports Director of ÖSBV  and Robert Parik, President of HSEBC for doing an enourmous job in organizing the tribunes, shuttle service, Video archive and most importantly the live score for the main table 1, almost exclusively alone during all of the tournament - Thank You!

As a referee with EABA I can't imagine what a great tournament is up and coming in the 4 Nations and I am very sorry I could not be there.
My tip would be England to win but after refereeing Paddy Donnelly recently I know he will take a lot of beating in his matches. ;-) Best of luck to all taking part and to all the organisers.

May i wish all the competing countries and especially the Austrian hosts all the very best of luck in this years 4 nations. England will as usual be a very hard team to beat, however i am sure the competition will be fierce - but fair, and off course the 'crac' excellant. Heres to a successfull event and to the continued growth of this fantastic tournament.

For the further development of the Austrian Billiards sport it is very important to be a part of these traditional tournament series. Therefore it is my honour to cordially welcome the players and officials who participate in the tournament in Austria and wish them a nice stay and a lot of success in the competition. In the name of the Austrian Snooker and Billiards Association I thank the tournament's organisation team and the HSEBC Vienna for all their hard work.

As the sporting director for English Billiards in the Austrian Snooker & Billiards Association (ÖSBV) I'm very pleased to be a part of the organising team of this important tournament. I can only emphazise that to hold this event in Vienna is another great chance for Austrian Billiards to manifest its place on the European Billiards-firmament together with three countries where Billiards is absolutely one of the most popular sports, very different to the Billiards scene in Austria.
To be a player of the Austrian National Billiards Team makes me proud and is a great motivation to play my best Billiards to help our team improving the performance in comparison with the last years' ones.
As a Billiards enthusiast I think the whole "Billiards-thing" that will happen this weekend is another clear evidence of friendship and sportmanship and a big Billiards-Community including players and sportsmen from many different places. And it is just Billiards that brings them togehter and therefore let the game be the winner this weekend and generally.
